He looked back out across the vista before him; at the mountains, the hills, the green valleys with the tiny people moving in their fields. The beauty in front of him and the relevance of him standing there nearly took his breath away. Images of vast oceans and far away continents, all crawling with the ant-like beings, all of them building, creating, feeling and living, flashed through his mind. He felt a warm surge of energy pass into him. He became one with all around him as the levels of his existence merged. He sensed the presence of his higher power, within him and around him. Perhaps there was something more at work here. Perhaps his duel with the man-eater did have a meaning that was deeper and broader than what he was determined to accept. |
